Today’s post relates to the origins of SARS-Cov-2 which has been in the news recently as the USA points the finger at China.

Just leaving this here.

This article purported to be by a Neville Hodgkinson – who apparently is a former medical and science correspondent at the Sunday Times – explains the situation far better than I can.

There are just a couple of things I want to set out.

Firstly;

Peter Daszak who visited the Wuhan lab on behalf of the World Health Organisation made this statement in 2015, as reported in the National Academies Press in February 2016:

β€˜We need to increase public understanding of the need for medical counter-measures such as a pan-coronavirus vaccine. A key driver is the media, and the economics will follow the hype. We need to use that hype to our advantage, to get to the real issues. Investors will respond if they see profit at the end of the process.’

Secondly;

if this is all an elaborate conspiracy theory the following publicly available patents are surely relevant in consideration of the origin of SARS-CoV-2.

28/01/2000 – Canine coronavirus S gene and uses therefor

19/04/2002 – Methods for producing recombinant coronavirus

12/04/2004 – Coronavirus isolated from humans

14/05/2007 – Coronavirus isolated from humans

05/06/2009 – Amino acid sequences directed against envelope proteins of a virus and polypeptides comprising the same for the treatment of viral diseases
