Normally I don’t post about my flying unless it’s been exceptional.
However today was exceptional for the wrong reason; I’ve had such a long layoff!
I hadn’t realised until I updated my logbook after my lunchtime flight today.
I last flew in early July 2021.
And that’s been primarily because I’ve been confined to the Isle of Man, being one of the dirty unvaccinated.
But I can’t blame the Isle of Man – we have had very good flying years.. just not the last two or three!
These are my stats for the last three years:-
2021 – 5 hours – Isle of Man
2020 – 11 hours – Isle of Man
2019 – 76 total hours flying variously in Colombia, Turkey, France, Brazil and the Isle of Man
I got 30 minutes today, in strong conditions with a very rusty pilot.
The look on my face is trepidation.
It was a little scary; and so bloody good after such a long time. Lets hope I do better this year.
